  • A fabulous location , with sensational views from the lovely cafe terrace over the valley to the sea , some 3km away . The site itself is , for me , way more atmospheric than the much better known...

  • Having visited this many years ago it still has a little bit of magic compared to Knossos. Very little reconstruction was undertaken during the original excavations (yes a few walls stabilised etc...

  • Amazing view. Great experience and worth the drive. The staff was polite and helpful and the Palace was much more relaxing than Knossos. It is also more original than Knossos and hasn't been reconstructed. So most of what you see is virtually untouched compared to Knossos.
  • It is a palace that people built it almost 6000 years ago. Just that fact gives you the chills. No marble etc. only what that hill had to offer, and the job the archeologists did to keep it up is stunning. A "must go" place in Crete if you like history
