The country's center of political power, Reichstag Building houses the German Parliament. This grand building, designed by architect Paul Wallot in 1894, was renovated and reopened in 1999. Its glass dome, designed by architect Norman Foster, offers panoramic views of the city and is accessible by elevator. You'll almost always encounter a long line waiting for the elevator, especially on sunny days, so plan lots of extra time when visiting this site. Once on top, enjoy 360-degree views and listen to a free audio guide about the building and the surrounding city sites. You can visit the dome and get guided tours of the building only with confirmed reservations secured well in advance. Check the website for details on registering online or in person. A fantastic place from the outside but beware as you cannot see inside. I went on the morning expecting to book for the afternoon or on the following day. Unfortunately I was told that you need to... more »

Stunning building, with lots of security. Audio was very informative about what was located outside and information about the building. Went to the cafe, which lots of people seem to miss. Glass top roof with a fabulous view. Well presented staff and all we spoke to spoke English and German. Which for us was fantastic. Coffee and tea available with delicious and large serving of cake. Will recommend to anyone.

Located near all other historical landmarks in Berlin. This is an amazing building with so much history. It is such as shame of the fire which we will never know who started it...plenty of security, which I can understand as it is an active Parliament building. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and patient. Make sure you take your time and enjoy the view up from the top of the landmark. The last Russian graffiti just takes you into what the people back then were going through and just makes us appreciate their sacrifice.
