An ever-expanding shopping and commercial area, Potsdamer Platz was once trapped in the no-man's-land dividing East and West Germany. At one of the busiest traffic intersections on the continent, the square now attracts visitors with its ultra-modern glass and steel architecture. This spot marks the point where the old road from Potsdam once passed through the city wall of Berlin. Almost totally destroyed during World War II, the square became the largest European building site in the 1990s. A lot of effort to create a business district from what was basically unused land. If you like lots of glass & steel modern buildings, you will be happy. Some nice modern restaurants here but... more »

A part of human history... some of which you can still feel as you walk around this area... other than that, the Christmas Market and the huge shopping Mall nearby are good attractions to visit. Highly recommended...

My father and I visited this plaza in Berlin, Germany 🇩🇪 in June 2012. It's a very nice place. We visited the museum on the fourth/day of our trip to Berlin, Germany 🇩🇪 and the museum is about the films. It's a very interesting museum. We're the visitors from Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪!
