The Roman Catholic Cathedrale St-Front started out as a humble church and monastery named for St. Front, who was a hermit living and preaching there. Erected around the fourth century, it was destroyed and rebuilt several times over the years, due to fires, invasions, and other tragedies. The cathedral underwent an extensive 19th-century renovation, melding the styles of different eras and giving the structure its current appearance.     Very Special cathedral not available elsewhere! Amazing style with very interesting domes. To some extent you may find small churches in the region sharing the same style but the Cathedral is special....  more »

    Nice walking inside and the chandeliers take our breath away. Even when there is a service ongoing and when you are quite, You may visit parts of the building.  more »

    One of the most beautiful cathedrals in the region. There rests a stone pope effigy and you can see his lace sleeves so delicately carved its hard to believe they are in stone.

    UNESCO world heritage site. Lovely Cathedral. During the holidays the City of Perigueux broadcasts a Christmas movie onto the walls of the Cathedral. The town comes out to enjoy. Must visit.
