The Dolmen de Fades, or 'Fairy Dolmen' is technically in Pepieux, but actually on the D168 between Siran and Cesseras. There used to be a small sign saying 'dolmen' but it has disappeared. You can park just off the road, then take a short walk up the track to the dolmen, which is on the small hill to the right. This is the largest passage-grave in the South of France, and it's seriously impressive. If it was in Britain, it would be fenced off, and you would have to pay to see it. As it's in France, there is just a sign. The site is maintained by the villagers of Pepieux, who are rightly proud of their dolmen - there's a miniature version in the village.
This is a special place, which wears its 5000 year history very lightly
