  The western end of the Maginot line it was pounded by the Germans and sadly the whole garrison died. Left as a "visitor attraction" by the Germans it is still as it was in 1940. Technically fascinating, human story, great guide, what more could you want? There are a lot of stairs to climb but I would do it again tomorrow.
