Plage De Roccapina, Corsica

4.5
#8 of 68 in Beaches in Corsica
Must see · Beach · Nature / Park
Set against the backdrop of lush green shrubbery and rolling sand dunes, Plage De Roccapina is a fairly popular beach despite its rough access road. You'll know you're going the right way when you see the regal "Lion de Roccapina," a granite rock formation that looks like a lion from the road. There are no facilities at this site, but the nearby campsite has a small snack bar that's open to the public. The wide, flat sandy beach is ideal for games, and the shallow water is great for kids. This sunny inlet beach has very few shady spots so it's a good idea to bring plenty of water and an umbrella or beach tent. • Our favourite anchorage in Corsica. A beautiful. I’ve with clear water and mostly white sandy bottom. Sadly the coral is mostly dead although there are still small fish in the bay.  more »
  • Been here twice now and can never get over the view of the crystal clear sea and the scenery. Definitely worth a visit. Even in the rain it’s nice and relaxing  more »

  • Wonderful beach but you'll have to earn it 😅 The road to get there is very dangerous especially if you have smaller car than a SUV. In that case I'd recommend parking near the hotel on the main road and walk to the beach (25/30min walk)
  • The beach is indeed amazing, it was crowded when we arrived and wow, if you’re in a car with a chassis low to the ground and more than 2 travelers GOOD LUCK driving down from the main road T40. We were 2 in a standard vehicle but we followed a long line of cars with passengers that had to get out of the car at every “bump”. I’m amazed that roads like this even exist without a warning sign but they in fact do so know before you go, the voyage down and back up IS A SAFARI, you’re best off in an SUV or a 4x4. The people who choose to walk down from the main parking lot have a 30-45 minute hike dodging cars that are making their way up and down. It’s definitely not the most ideal way to end a day at the beach. That being said, amazing views, nicer voyage for those traveling by yacht or catamaran I imagine 😉
