  • Colourful and interesting exhibits, laid out with an engaging narrative. Explanations were relevant, concise and easy to follow. This museum doesn't just collect objects, it uses them selectively and effectively to tell a story. For example, the prayer for America displayed in hotels during the Cold War was both amusing and an insight into American mentality at the time. One of the few museums I was neither disappointed nor overwhelmed by.
  • If you visit Caen, you must visit here. It was a fabulously designed and thought through museum, with lots of information and demonstrations to suit all knowledge levels. The exhibits managed to explain the causes and developments of the war from political, military and human points of view. Informative and emotional. Well worth the visit, as a reminder of how close we came to losing our freedom.
