  They were not able to give me any useful information , apart "look this leaflet" or "call this number". I asked to book a tour and they suggested to find the proper website....

  Very nice tourism information office with friendly & knowledgeable staff and a very interesting souvenir shop selling not only the usual touristic knick-knacks (postcards, fridge magnets and the like), but also artwork, jewelry or crafts by local designers. In the same building, just a cross the hall, there's also a nice coffee shop. We went there three times on different days and each time we encountered a different person, but they were all very helpful. However, I give it 4 stars instead of 5 so that the management adds extra staff, as this is the only tourism office in Tórshavn (the one by the ferry terminal was closed, seemingly permanently) as well as the main one for the whole Faroe Islands. So each time we went there there was a long line of people, as the same person deals with booking tours, giving out bus schedules or other information, as well as dealing with the sales from the shop. One person is not enough!
