Admire the carved elongated domes of Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi, built over the tomb of a 13th-century Alexandrine Andalusia-born Sufi saint. A 73 m (240 ft) tall Ayyubid minaret towers over the cream facade with its four huge domes, making it the largest mosque in Alexandria and one of the most visited in the region. Built in 1775, the current structure underwent restoration by Italian architects in 1929-1945, and features a colonnade of elongated arches, exquisitely carved interior, marble floors, and eight monolithic granite columns. A mosque and a tomb of Sidi Abo El Abbas El Morsi but you still can find a lots of other tomb surrounding the mosque like Sidi Busiri and many other saints. The mosque is spacious and comfortable plus a very convinient place to unwind for awhile before going to other tourist attraction around Alexandria.
