Take a tour through the cave system at Cueva de las Maravillas and observe the rock formations while learning about how their formation. Entrance into the caves requires a tour guide, who leads you through the cave while explaining about the formations. Safety precautions have been taken with lots of lighting, clear pathways, and handrails throughout the caves. At the end are some cave paintings, though their authenticity is unclear. Watch for the large iguanas that hang around outside the cave, too. throughly enjoyed seeing the history for the dominicans and the park /jungle area. the cave is a definite must see, goes down about 150 feet, and they have areas to show you, they turn off the lights.... more »

A great place to enjoy with the family and kids. It is a cave with many historical aborigine art. The price for adults is 300 dominican pesos. It has different areas to enjoy, horse tours, iguana mirror and cactus forest. They have a place to eat if you bring your own food. Tips are accepted for the tour guides. The tour is around 40 to 45 minutes.

It's a nice place, as for me were hard only stairs - too much))) you can see different kind of minerals inside and even a small pond, which "make your dreams come true " as one local girl said (although I am not pretty sure about it). It has some cave drawings, but not much. Not very good to make pics, because it's kinda dark inside and also because it's rather narrow for big group of tourists.
