    A beautiful three-vessel Fråde Stens Church, which is erected around the year 1080 by the Roskilde Bispen Svend Nordmand. Around 1160, a Cistercian nunnery was erected to the south of the church, whose nuns came from the richest families in the Sealand. In 1177, Bishop Absalon left his relative, the local Saint Margrethe of the Highst, the Bishop of the church. Crowds of pilgrims walmed here and their gifts made the church mighty and prosperous. Up through the Middle Ages, the building was both extended and rebuilt several times. After the Reformation in 1536, the monastery was dismantled and around the year 1600, the monastery and subsequently the choir were demolished. The current appearance stems from the series of restorations that were carried out in the years around 1850. Part of the church's inventory consists of objects that are preserved from the 1600 figure
