Odense ZOO houses more than 2,000 animals and 147 species from around the world including red pandas, endangered tapirs, Siberian tigers, and giant manatees. At the time of its opening, the zoo had two apes, a peacock, a deer, a mule, a magpie, and a guinea pig. Accompany an animal keeper, feed the giraffes, or spend the night at the zoo in your own savannah tent in the African camp. In 2001, the zoo opened the "Oceanium," featuring South American animal life. Amenities include plenty of restaurants and a children's playground with a jungle gym. One of the best I've been in. And I have visited many zoo's around the world. Melbourne, London, Berlin etc etc. The animals here all seemed to be very comfortable. Big 5 stars from me.

Odense Zoo is a lovely park. Having been named among the best zoos in Europe, it's a great place to while away a few hours. And if you prefer a more interactive experience, they regularly offer special feed-the-giraffes or behind-the-scenes tickets. The only reason I rate it a 4/5 is the fact that it is on the smaller size, which may not necessarily be a drawback to everyone. But what it lacks in size and variety, it easily makes up for in charm.
