A Must see for fans of modern architecture... The danish architect Johan Otto von Spreckelsen (1929-1987) built Stavnsholt church in 1981 just before he won the international architectural competition in Paris (1983) to design the Grand Arche. He tries to give a deeper spirituell insight with geometry and harmonious beauty, which builds up on squares, cubes and golden ratio proportions. Also the oak trees around the church are planted in a special pattern. There´s a little interesting exhibition about the architecture in the parish community center, which is connected to the church.
