At Kongens Have, walk the Knight's Path, a lime-tree avenue which intersects the Lady's Path near the center of the park. King Christian IV established a pleasure garden in the Renaissance style in 1606, which was redesigned in the Baroque style in the 18th century. The oldest and most visited park in the city features statues, monuments, and several historical buildings, including Rosenborg Barracks, home to the Royal Guards. Look for the oldest sculpture in the garden of a lion with a humanoid face which is tearing apart a horse. The early 17th century sculpture most likely illustrates a Persian legend about the battle between light and darkness. Kongens Have reviews
Wonderful park, wonderful place to relax any time of the year., most peaceful place for winter-walk, most perfect place for picnic during the summer. Very recommended. more »
Kongens have is a peaceful, clean, beautiful lunge in the city, with lots of grass and benches to sit and have a coffee, piknik or just a cold drink on. more »
Nice place to go with friends or walk the dog. It's large and centrally located. Usually you will find many young adults or late teens there, sitting on the grass or playing drinking games. It could be more beautiful if there were more colourful flowers and just more colours instead mostly just trees and grass.
A nice place to relax or walk around. The gardens aren't very large but there is parkland attached. It is also conveniently located on the 26 bus route which a couple of stops later will drop you near the little mermaid statue.
