Church of Our Lady - Copenhagen Cathedral, Copenhagen

4.1
At Church of Our Lady - Copenhagen Cathedral, see where the royal weddings and coronations of Danish kings have been taking place since the 14th century. The current building was designed by C.F. Hansen in the neoclassical style and was completed in 1829. The famous Danish sculptor B. Thorvaldsen gave the baptismal font and the rest of the marble works as a personal gift to the church. Notice the statue of Christ above the altar with its welcoming gesture and the 12 apostles in the nave. A marble statue of a guardian angel in front of the altar is holding the font. The cathedral also houses the largest tower bell in Denmark as well as a large choir organ.
