Prague Astronomical Clock, Prague
The square surrounding Prague Astronomical Clock is one of the most crowded spots in all of Prague, attracting tourists eager to synchronize their watches with one of the world's oldest timepieces. The town hall, founded here in the 1330s, houses the old town's main tourist office and has art exhibits on its first two floors. You can take a guided tour of the building to see its council chamber and assembly room, noted for containing exquisite mosaics from the 1930s. Be sure to climb the building's Gothic tower to see the inner workings of the famous astronomical clock, considered one of medieval Europe's major technical achievements. The clock's decorative figures put on a lively show on the hour, so time your visit if possible. Discover how to plan a Prague trip in just a few steps with Inspirock's itinerary builder.

Our hotel was right opposite the clock. Large crowds gather daily to view the clock so can get quiet tight for space if going elsewhere. Best to just soak up the atmosphere and roll with it. more »
Beautiful historic site. Always busy so try to visit early in the day. It's worth seeing it at the top of the hour to see the procession of the saints, if you can stand the crowd. Great view of the city from the top of the tower. Take the town hall/ clock tour, it's one of the best tour you can take in the old town.
Definitely the jewel of Prague's center but it's just as crowded as expected. You can also climb up the tower which offers a magnificent view over the old town and you don't even have to sweat since it has an elevator. On one side you can see the square and the grandiose cathedral, and on the other one way in the distance - the Prague castle.
