Observe the massive Mural de la Prehistoria, painted under the direction of artist Leovigildo Gonzalez between 1959 and 1962. Impressive in size, the painting is 200 m by 300 m (660 ft by 990 ft). To create this work, painters hung from the top of the rock and listened as Leovigildo belted out instructions over a microphone. The result is a vividly colored depiction of prehistoric life, which may not astound you in the artistic sense, but will stun you with its sheer size and the effort put in to create something on such a grand scale.
