With attractive blue hues and soft white sands, it's hardly surprising that Playa Paraiso frequently makes the list of the beast beaches, not only in Cuba, but around the world. Located in a nature reserve 5 km (3.1 mi) from the more developed hotel zone, the pristine stretch of coast boasts both space and serenity, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Take a refreshing dip in calm shallow waters, then head up the beach to the shaded snack bar for a delicious mojito or frosty beer. A handful of umbrellas, beach loungers, and restrooms provide just enough facilities, while still fostering a tranquil, untouched environment that you’ll never want to leave. This was one of the best trips to Cuba I have been on but unfortunately we did run into some complications. As much as we enjoyed the resort it makes it harder to go back due to the fact with left a cell phone in the room and it was stolen. We waited for our 4pm check in and once we were in the room we unfortunately had to deal with pluming issues. After waiting 2 hours for the maintenance guy to not show up we demanded a new room because they kept giving us the run around. During the time we switched rooms our cell phone was left in the room. By the time we realized the cell phone was missing the next day the maid had already been in the room to clean it and there was already different guests in the room. The person had access to my phone opened my apps and I was able to find out they were 10hrs away in a different city in Cuba. The cell phone got sold to someone within the 24hrs of it being missing. The resort was not helpful at all would not question any of their staff would not help us in anyway. That was a big let down for our trip. We tried to make the best of it. Luckily I was with a good group of people to make it a little better. Be very careful with your personal belongings you can't trust anyone. It is very unfortunate the cell phone situation occurred because other than that we really enjoyed our trip. We would have recommended this resort to others but that really made us feel uneasy. We really liked the resort, the beach was beautiful. The food was good and it had a decent amount of options to choose from. Most of the staff were all very friendly other than the front lobby/customer service staff. The rooms were great our only complaint was the water pressure in the shower (which we heard a lot of guests complaining about the showers).
