In addition to a major ski resort known for hosting past championship slalom races, the mountain features a series of marked hiking trails popular with adventure seekers and nature lovers. With the majority of its area designated as a protected nature park, most of the mountain remains covered by thick beech forests. Sljeme, the tallest peak, rises to about 1,030 m (3,400 ft) and offers panoramic views of Zagreb. Hike to the top, or explore the longest cave in northern Croatia.
