Visit Euphrasius Basilica to see one of the best-preserved early Christian cathedral complexes in the world. The 6th century bishop Euphrasius ordered the construction of the church, which is now a World Heritage Site. Walk along the two rows of marble columns with richly sculpted Byzantine and Romanesque capitals. Admire the only surviving depiction of the Mother of God in an early-Christian western basilica. Look for the mosaic of Mary and child sitting on the heavenly throne in the vault over the apse. Don't miss the marble ciborium, modeled on the one in St. Mark's in Venice.     Well preserved Unesco site in Porec. Visit takes around an hour: you'll have the opportunity to climb the bell tower, see many mosaics and breathtaking frescos in the basilica. Entry costs 50Kn.  more »

    What a great place. Unique streets plenty of good priced food stops. Good weather and lovely places. Worth a visit to the world heritage site.

    I'm glad we took the opportunity to visit here x tickets about 10 pound each but it is an amazing world heritage site. It was very easy to get around with very clear signage and info leading you from one area to the next. The last stop has you emerging into the most beautiful church, certainly got a wow from me xx
