Stroll, shop, and dine at Stradun, the main, limestone-paved street of the city. From the western to the eastern entrance, the popular walkway stretches approximately 300 m (984 ft) through Old Town. Both ends are marked with 15th-century fountains and bell towers. As you walk, take in the 17th-century houses, all built after the earthquake and the large fire of 1667. The houses share the same architectural pattern. Shops, cafes, and restaurants with arched entrances occupy the ground level, and living quarters occupy the next level up. The street is also the site of New Year's Eve celebrations, occasional concerts, and the Feast of St Blaise, which celebrates the patron saint of Dubrovnik.
