  I rode the bus from Flamingo to Santa Cruz for a day trip. The round trip fare was about 10,000 colones ... Needless to say I was over charged. However, it was worth the trip. Parque Bernabela Ramos....  more »

  Super cute and historical park in the middle of town. It is very Guanacaste style, and there are tons of statues dedicated to the town’s history, all the way from Chief Diria (whom the nearby national park is named for) to the women of the Pueblo who keep the traditions alive. A lot of Chorotega pride here which is beautiful to see. There are lots of places to sit, lots of shade, lots of statues and paintings and sculptures to look at, plus a beautiful church across the street. We stumbled upon it by chance and are very glad we did!
