Built in 1302 and greatly expanded over the years to now occupy a 20,000 sq m (215,278 sq ft) site, the temple represents one of the largest buildings dedicated to Confucius in the country. Rulers and officials paid their respects to the philosopher here until 1911, while today the temple area collects notable artifacts and artworks related to Confucius and his beliefs, including stone tablets engraved with the names of those who passed the Imperial Examination, and a statue of the great man himself.   • This is the imperial college for the emperors in the past, primarily focus on Confucius teachings. There is a huge Confucius statue, numbers of stone tablets, coniferous trees for few hundreds years.....  more »
