Admire the impressive range of over 80,000 artworks at The AGO, Art Gallery of Ontario, one of the largest venues of its kind in North America. With a collection spanning the period between the 1st century CE and the present day, this architectural landmark (with a facade by noted architect Frank Gehry) houses First Nation carvings, Henry Moore sculptures, rare Quebecois religious items, and much more. Other highlights include permanent exhibits of European paintings by Tintoretto, Rubens, Rembrandt, Goya, Picasso, Rodin, Monet, Degas, Cezanne, and many other Baroque and Renaissance masters. It's difficult to see everything in a single day, but if you're on a tight schedule, you can get a good feel for the gallery by taking a short mini tour. Really great gallery that can be enjoyed by the whole family. I went with small children on their family activity day Sundays. While it was really busy,-It was organized and the children as well as adults could still enjoy themselves. We ended up going through much of the rest of the gallery for around 2 hours without complaints for the wee ones, so that was a definite plus. My partner and I will try and come back just the two of us and try to check out the Bistro too.

The children's area is amazing. So much for little ones to do. I was also very happy that kids under 5 eat free with an adult meal. I wouldn't have thought that an art gallery would be a good place to bring a toddler and preschooler. But they have made it so family friendly!
