Religious Site · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Admire an impressive masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture at Dzongdrakha Monastry, a complex made up of four shrines perched on a cliff overlooking terraced fields. With massive walls painted white with orange ocher lining in the upper decks, the temple complex features well-preserved paintings and colorful murals depicting Wheel of Life and scenes from the life of Buddha. An integral part of this scenic complex is a footbridge across Paro River which connects two white towers, now on the tentative list of World Heritage Sites.
