  • Accessible only upon reservation. Tournai is famous for the manufacture of porcelain that François-Joseph Peterinck and his descendants exploited from 1750 to 1891. We know the blue decorations, including the Ronda (floral bouquets) and the "fly" décor and also the famous "bird of Buffon" service, made at the request of the Duke of Orléans. Currently, the easiest way to see these productions is to go to the museums of Mariemont (near La Louvière) or to the museums of Cinquantenaire (Brussels)! The city has acquired a House from the 18th century to expose these porcelain in the past to the archaeological museum. She repainted the interior decorations of this building roughly before placing her collection, which is now almost inaccessible to the individual visitor.
