Horse racing on the historic savannah has taken place since 1845, when members of the British Regiment used the area to match their own horses. The club, established in 1905, has since developed into a 6 furlong (1,207 m) vibrant green track surrounded by bustling spectator stands.     A leftover ceremony from the commonwealth days. Volunteers in amazing uniforms parade & march to drums & trumpets. Every Thursday at 12noon. Walk a little further and visit George Washington house, the only US president to visit Barbados. Then make your way to the gorgeous little Italian coffee/cafe for drinks & snacks. A lovely couple of hours.
