The sand's color results from deceased microscopic organisms with pink or red shells that live on the seafloor, the underside of reefs, and rocks. While walking along the 5 km (3.1 mi) shoreline, you'll notice the brighter shades of pink in the wet sand along the water's edge. Swim in the calm turquoise waters, protected by the outlying reefs. The Pink Sand Beach on Harbour Island, one of the smaller islands of the Bahamas. The beach provides a perfect place to sunbathe and swim in the warm crystal clear water. But the most impressive thing about it is the long stretch of soft pink sand, making it one of the most unusual beaches in the world. The light rose color is a result of foraminifera - a marine animal and its red shell, which crushes and later mixes with the white sand. The weather is warm all year.
