    At low tide, you can walk from the mainland to king island, approx 1km each way on sandy/gravel, good for a dog walk. The island itself is fairly unremarkable a few mangroves and some gravelly sand...  more »

    This must be one of the best open secret in Brisbane, even though the place is not super crowded even on weekends. Hint: Must go during low tide so you and your little ones can walk across the sandy....  more »

    Such a nice discovery made today. You can walk to the island from Wellington Point when the tide is low. It takes about 10min to get there. There is not much to see/visit on the island itself apart from informational boards. But there's no one around, it's a nice little walk and views on both the ocean and the land. The wind can be pretty strong, so that's a good idea to check the weather forecast prior.

    Lovely walk that seems like a secret, since you can't access it until low tide. Bring flip flops or wading shoes as the coral can be quite sharp. Take a camera and try to go on sunrise as it is stunning.
