Trip Planner: South Pacific / Australia / Victoria / Greater Melbourne / Port Phillip / St Kilda / Luna Park Melbourne
Built in 1912, Luna Park Melbourne is Melbourne's historic amusement park located on the foreshore of Port Phillip Bay. This vintage park was the first of its kind built in Australia and has been operating almost continuously since opening a century ago. The site's main features include the iconic "Mr. Moon" face entry and flanking towers, and the Scenic Railway, which is the oldest continuously operating roller coaster in the world. You can also drop by the park's more modern attractions, such as the Crazy Coaster roller coaster, the Spider, Ferris wheel, and several other thrill rides popular with kids. Luna Park Melbourne reviews
Childhood would not be complete without a trip to Luna Park. It's been around for a long time, the roller coasster is an institution in itself. The weekends can be crowded, especially on fine days... more »
Visited on Wednesday 12th February, it is amazing this place is still going and well worth checking out if you have the time to do so. more »
Everything is great except for the bug roller coaster that replaced the car one. The seats I could not even put my bum in the seat because it's moulded so small, despite there being ample space in the carriage. The toilets are so far apart from one another it's such a bummer
We had good fun. Most rides are accessible for 110cm tall kids. You can bring your own food, table and chairs under shelter available, you can buy food too. It's quite small, so I can imagine it can get very packed. We arrived at 11am, so we didn't have much to wait. I would have appreciate more shade, as waiting lines were in the sun when we came (mid Feb).
