  • Great walk of 4-5 hours return from trailhead at Cockle Creek, Recherche. Depending on weather, the track can be quite muddy and parts of the wetlands boardwalk could be covered in water. The flora changes from bushland to open wetlands to coastal scrub and dunes ... and then rocky headlands. The coastline is fabulous. If you follow the headland around to the west, you can get down to the beach via a long, steep, staircase at South Cape Bay. Take a minute to relax and dip your feet in the southern ocean. Spectacular views.
