Head to the top of Carlo Sand Blow for an eye-filling look at the multihued Rainbow Beach below. Starting from the Rainbow Beach water tower at the top of Cooloola Drive, take the walking path 600 m (0.4 mi) to the top of the 15 hectare (37 acre) sand-blow. Once you get to the top, take in the 360-degree views that include Fraser Island and magnificent sea cliffs. Come for the spectacular sunset and stay to stargaze. Watch for migrating whales if you're here between August and October.     Nice stroll from the car park to "the blow". Really fantastic views over the water and cool fun to boogie board down the sand!  more »

    Park at the Carlo car park and then it’s about a 5-10 min walk to the top. There are about 30 steps to take along the way up. Once you get to the top you are rewarded with spectacular views of Fraser....  more »

    A little slice of heaven on earth. Very much worth the 3hr drive to just get away and reflect and restores from the bustle and expectations in life. Also makes for a great lower body work out if one wishes to climb up and down those gloriously fine and silky sand hills.

    Spectacular natural beauty! Well worth the short work for the whole family. Kids will love running up the dunes and rolling (falling) back down again. Can see the whole way to double island point and across Tim Can Inlet. Bring water if the suns out, would get a little hot on the sand.
