Mount Mitchell (Aboriginal: Cooyinnirra), is a twin-peaked volcanic mountain with an elevation above sea level of 1,168 metres (3,832 ft), located in the Main Range, is about 100 kilometres (62 mi) west of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and immediately south of Cunninghams Gap.

    Easy hike to complete with people of various ages. It becomes a little steep towards the end with narrow steps to climb. Views of the Scenic Rim are outstanding. We could even see Brisbane in the.....  more »

    Mt Mitchell is situated in Cunningham's gap about 1 1/2 hours south west of Brisbane - good for a weekend hike and a change from Mt Coot which seems over run with people every Sunday now. It was a...  more »

    After scrambling across the highway we found a well defined walking track throughout most of the area lots of leaf litter on the ground in the thicker forest areas..some small trees down on the path but not a hazard... excellent scenery around the halfway mark. Unbelievably stunning views at the top of the mountain a must for any bucket list we took our 5 yr old and she was an absolute trooper ...only part to watch is at the top after the warning signs and there are no safety barriers or hand rails ... but still well worth a walk ...👍👍👍👍
