A location for the 2010 romantic drama "South Solitary," Cape Nelson lighthouse is the picture perfect image of a harrowing white tower at the edge of the sea. The beacon rises above heath covered hills among cottages that offer accommodations. Completed in 1884, the lighthouse is the savior of many a seaman sailing along the coast of Australia.   • We did the lighthouse tour and it was well worthwhile. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided a great presentation. Next time we will consider staying in the cottages.  more »
  • Nice views, but be ware of the horse flies. They bite and hurt, so be careful with kids and wear long pants and sleeves. They were relentless. We went mid week and basically desolate. If you have...  more »
  • Really interesting. It would be great to stay in the lighthouses keepers cottage. Very nice cafe there
  • Great view, a shame the cafe was closed at 3.30 on a Sunday afternoon. Would definitely recommend a look, if you are in Portland. But don't forget the aerogaurd lots of flys!
