Vibrant, flamboyantly colored plant life abounds in Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden, a charming complex replete with a wide variety of attractive, vivid flora. Aside from rhododendrons, the 40 ha (99 acre) gardens also contain azaleas, cherries, daffodils, and camellias. The plants in the garden are arranged in such a way as to ensure a year-round bloom. Good for short walks and byo picnic. Very suitable for young family. The cafe was closed first week January so it's important to check properly they are actually open before assuming they will be open. Parking is nearby and we easily found a spot. It's located on a hillside so the walk is medium easy. Hard push for child pusher. Great trees and flowering plants such as hydrangeas. I like how green it is and how fresh the air is under the tall trees.
These gardens are immaculately maintained. Much thought has also gone into the placement of the plants and flowers in groups so that’s you can an almost immediately get a sense of the differences in each variety. There also strategically place spots for snapping that unforgettable photograph. The coffee and gift shops on the premises is good way to end the trip here. I would highly recommend a visit.
