Mayfield Garden is a botanical garden situated in Oberon in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia. Located approximately 200 kilometres (120 mi) west of Sydney, the garden is one of the world's largest privately owned cool climate gardens, lying within a 2,000-hectare (5,000-acre) agricultural area. The garden is the artistic and entertainment hub for the Central West area of the state and it is opened daily with an entry fee.

Developed by botanist Garrick Hawkins, Mayfield has been inspired by the gardens of Europe, which features vast greenery vistas, an avenue of trees, dazzling seasonal colours and ornamental flowering. It is made up of two main garden areas, Mayfield Garden and the Hawkins’ Family Private Garden.

What a delightful find!!! We came across this place when we visited the Jenolan Caves. It is about an hour drive from Katoomba but definitely worth the drive no matter what season it is. Obviously it would be more pleasant to the eyes during spring/summer where plants and flowers flourish. However, the beauty and hard work can be seen even at Winter times. We did the walk and it was just under 3 hours. Returned to the cafe at the end of the walk and had a few amazing meals. Compliments to the chef on everything we had, pumpkin soup, lamb ragu pasta and kids cheese and bacon pasta. One of the best meals we have had in a cafe in a long time. Wish we lived close so we could come back to try other meals. Anyways, maybe next time :)
