  • Valley Lake is located in Mount Gambier, South Australia. Mount Gambier is roughly 5.5 hours drive away from Melbourne CBD (city centre). The lake is a good place for picnic with family and friends. There is a conservation area (wildlife park) located near Valley Lake (roughly 1-2 min walk). Do check out the conservation area for wild kangaroos, wallaby and koala bears. Other destinations (places of interest in Mount Gambier) includes Blue Lake and Umpherston Sinkhole.
  • My favourite activity in Mt Gambier is to hike the 12-15 km loop from town anticlockwise around Valley Lake , up Centenary Tower (if the flag is up to show it’s open), they around the Mutton Lake with lovely trees, and then the 3.4km around the Blue Lake. Just so fulfilling!
