Baluk Arts is a non-profit Victorian Aboriginal arts organisation based in Mornington owned by Aboriginal artists from Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula and greater Melbourne. Through Baluk Arts, family groups and members of the stolen generation have reconnected with their culture and express their histories through strong artistic practices to support their cultural and creative well being.
Baluk Arts encourages community development, youth leadership, participation and interaction, and Indigenous governance through innovative arts practice.
Baluk (also spelt balluk or balug) is a local Boonwurrung word meaning group of people.
Aboriginal artworks are locally made and available for sale. These works include clap sticks, carved wooden artefacts, paintings, works on paper, natural jewellery, didgeridoos, handmade cards, self published books, scarves and sculpture.
All sales assist our non-profit organisation and directly benefit Aboriginal artists by providing materials, studio space and development opportunities. Our purpose is to build capacity, maintain culture and achieve economic advancement through the production, preservation, promotion and sale of our artists.

I met the Baluk Arts team when they were showcasing their work in Sydney. I really liked one of the works they had on display, but by the time I came back to purchase it, someone else had beaten me to it! The work's creator, Lenny, was onsite and said she could work with me to create another one to my liking! She did. And it's brilliant!
