  • Chocolate with a side of history. We learnt so much about the origins of cocoa beans and the process of growing right through to making chocolate. The end result is delicious. A very well run tour.  more »
  • We had a good morning out and found the tour full of interesting history of chocolate and the farm. Chocolate tasting was delicious. The day we went was a group of around 15, which was a good size...  more »
  • I'm laughing a little reading people's comments about the lunch not being up to scratch and children being bitten by bugs... Seriously. It's a tour of a cocoa plantation.. You pay a super cheap price and you want 5 star lunch?? Think about how crazy that is. We went as a group of 4 and all absolutely loved it. Very fascinating, Chris and Lyn have done so well to achieve what they have. Yes, it's hot, you're in the tropics! Fantastic tour, would highly recommend to anyone of any age who wants to know more about the world :) Burger patties were so delicious! Definitely homemade
  • I am going to write an honest review and leave it for you to decide if it is for you or not. I am a local to Cairns, I visited with my husband and Son. When we read on the website it gives an impression that you can have the tour of the farm and will be able to see how the chocolates are made. When we reached the factory we realised its more of a farm then the factory. It has a big shed where the presentation was taken. It has some devices set up as well. Tour started with the history of the coco beans and then we were shown the nursery of coco plant , followed by the farm it self. After that we were excited that we will now be showen how the chocolates are made, however we were showen the countainer from the out side where and how chocolates are made. Only description. We never see it beeing made. They showed the fruit cut in half...showen the roated cocoa beans and we all get to crack it open for the tast. After that it was chocolate tasting, one small cube each of each flavour chocolate. My husband reaction was, it feels like I am back in university and attending a lecture. My 8 year old was excited because in the start of the tour they handed the quiz for children to complete and if they get 15/20 right they get a certificate. This kept him motivated to listen. The lunch was simple and clean. If you are vegetarian or vegan good news...they actually understand the concept of contamination. So 5 start for that!! If you are interspersed in the history of coco beans then yes this is great for you. If you think you will be able to see each step of how chocolate is being made, then its not for you as there were no step shown.(they said is off for new year break). But I am sure thats how they do it. If you have young children, its a big no no, as there are long talks on every step and not much to see for young children and they will get extremely bored. I hope its informative and helpful for whoever is looking for review.
