Cabbage Tree Bay is the whole Aquatic Reserve around Shelly Beach, Fairy Bower and Half Way beach. This area is not patrolled so there are boats that come in and anchor, risking damage to the sea grass and making it unsafe for swimmers and snorkelers. The Friends of Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve seek to educate and protect the precious marine environment.

    great place for snorkeling, however a bit wavy , so if you are very beginner or if your swimming skill is not good, i would suggest Shelly beach in shallow areas if you drive, you can use 2 hours.....  more »

    At least of the places I've been. All the way from Shelly Beach (a great beach itself which provides the easiest access to the water) to the headland near Manly beach has a huge variety of fish and.....  more »

    Well worth the walk, beautiful views of Manly from the far distance. Very picturesque landscaping, shaded areas with benches to sit and rest, cafes and restaurants. Family friendly beach covers and salt water pool by the cliff.

    My favourite spot to snorkel. You just need to ensure you go when tide is not high as hard to enter. Ocean pool also available. We swim here till late April.
