The society aims to collect, preserve, conserve, interpret, educate and display the social history of the Ipswich region and in doing so, present the region’s rich heritage in a building that meets all modern standards thus allowing equality of access to all with safe and friendly facilities.

Cooneana

As well as our aims, the objective of the Society is to restore Cooneana Homestead (circa 1868) and display artefacts and period furniture inside the house. Currently, artefacts, furniture and photographs are displayed in the museum which is housed inside the main building. These displays are being updated on a regular basis.

    With what little cash they get it's great BUT REALITY IS It could be so great. There is a massive Heritage in Ipswich. The Welsh Miners came. Names everywhere reflect the past in the people of today.....  more »

    Lots of love and attention to detail from several volunteer groups that make up this organisation. Spinners and Weavers and the Genealogical Society are bothed housed in vintage historical cottages...  more »

    My 5 year old son loved everything, particularly "Sam's little house" which he still thinks is hilarious and wants to go back again. Arvo was a fantastic tour guide. Just note that some websites list the entry as "donation only" however there is a $5 fee per adult which is well worth the money.

    Had a school excursion of 40+ grade one's attend. The volunteers couldn't have been more accommodating and the kids had the best time. 10/10
