Koala Conservation Centre, Cowes

3.9
#2 of 24 in Parks in Phillip Island
Island · Nature / Park
At the heart of Phillip Island Nature Park is Koala Conservation Centre, where you can see wild koalas in their natural habitat, accessible by treetop boardwalks open to visitors. You can also talk to the park's rangers who look after the animals and are dedicated to their protection and conservation. Visitors to the center often choose to stroll through the bushland on the Woodland Boardwalk, but you can also choose from other viewing areas, including the Nobbies Center, from which you can spot seals, dolphins, and sharks. Koalas are considered placid nocturnal animals, but at this center you can see them and a variety of native birds resting in the eucalyptus trees during the day. • Beautiful place to koalas, wallabies and birds in the surrounding wetland area. Fun info for kids. Definitely take some bug repellant as there are quite a few mosquitoes but a roll on would be better that way your not spraying it where animals could possibly breathe it in. Or spray yourself before you go in the entrance.
  • My heart melted when I saw those little cuties no matter they’re eating, sleeping, eating or looking at me!!! Absolutely loved the experience where you’re able to see them quite close. I was lucky to see koalas awake and eating! They’re just so adorable!
