Blessed with secluded bays, clean white-sand beaches, and bird-filled wetlands, Freycinet National Park offers a range of outdoor activities for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. The park's natural assets include the much-photographed Wineglass Bay and the imposing pink granite peaks of the Hazards Range that dominate the Peninsula. There are many ways to experience the park's scenic landscapes--from short walks and long treks to half-day cruises and camping. The pristine waters of the Tasmanian Sea abound with marine life, which makes kayaking, diving, and snorkeling especially appealing. Freycinet National Park reviews
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful worth the walk. 1000 steps so get ready. A great walk though. Make sure you check the weather or take your rain jacket. more »
Did this tour with TOURS TASMANIA. Have to say they were fantastic. Plenty of time for sightseeing and took us to hidden scenic areas. Very relaxed and informative tour. We highly recommend them. more »
What a beautiful place to visit and camping here is wonderful. We did two walks on this visit; wineglass bay/hazards beach loop (great views and swimming at wineglass), and wineglass bay lookout and down to bay for a swim. Wonderful swimming. Beautifully clean park, well maintained, clean facilities and generously sized semi shaded campsites. Great value too.
Great walks, perfect for people of a range of physical abilities. It is NOT possible to get to the beach via the My Amos track...it finishes up the top of the mountain and it's very steep cliffs down the other side. If you want to go to the beach you need to take the track which goes over the saddle (this is a less strenuous track than the Mt Amos track). There is no way to cut across from one track to the other mid way along.
