Hellyers Road is a whisky distillery in Burnie, Tasmania. Founded in 1999 by a group of dairy farmers, it takes its name from a road surveyed in 1827 by explorer Henry Hellyer. In 2010, Hellyers Road was recognised by the Malt Whisky Association of Australia for producing the nation's best single malt, and in 2013 Hellyers Road Pinot Noir Finish was voted ‘Best New World Whisky’ from a series of blind tastings conducted at the Whisky Live fair in Paris.

    We visited the distillery as part of a shore excursion. We didn't tour the distillery, but tasted the product. The Whisky Cream was really good. It’s ironic that they use oak barrels from Jack...  more »

    Way down the back of the carpark. My server was very friendly and helpful but seemed new, another new what was going on but was quite terse. Whiskeys were delicious though, and that's the main thing.

    This is a difficult review. The tour is a 1 star for me, wasn’t really a tour at all more a small info session, we weren’t taken around the distillery at all only taken into a room to look over it and then told a very basic version of how the whiskey is made, for the price it should definitely have come with tasting of all available whiskeys as other distillery tours I have been to around the world, instead this came with one tasting of what can only be discribed as fire water. On the flip side I would give the restaurant 5 stars, the food was probably the best we had on our tour around Tasmania.
