Trip Planner: South Pacific / Australia / Queensland / Brisbane Region / Brisbane / State Library Of Queensland
Although the seating sections in this top-class facility are quite comfortable, State Library Of Queensland is far more than just a place to read books. You’ll discover a strong reference section, access to computers, and workshop areas. A digital culture center called The Edge offers Internet training. The library houses the 1892 Manifesto of the Queensland Labour Party to the people of Queensland and The Margaret Lawrie Collection of Torres Strait Island Materials, both recognized by UNESCO’s prestigious Memory of the World Australian Register. This fantastic building has wonderful views and books and crannies to sit and read in. See Ian Coombes, writer in residence at work, too. more »
A perfect public space. Bright, clean, safe, and easily accessible. I have always found the staff really friendly. I didn't actually realise, but you don't need any access card to go to the upper levels. All FREE!
This place is my home away from home. I love to study at the Jacaranda Lounge and listen to the piano players on Friday afternoons. Incredible range of books, activities and historical collections not to mention the incredible view of the Brisbane River and CBD. Whenever I have a question, a friendly staff member is always there to help me. I feel privileged to have access to these world-class facilities.
