  • I went to the reserve in the morning and found platypus going about their lives soon after arriving. I've seen platypus at the zoo before but never in wild until that morning. There were also a few...  more »
  • So, if you want to see a platypus, this is the place to go. We arrived around 5pm and we saw one in first 5 minutes. We stayed for over two hours watching it dive in the water and resurface again.  more »
  • I come here fairly regularly, but last saw the smaller mainland platypus during the day in July 2014. It can be difficult to make them out if there is a wind blowing or if people of vehicles have been moving around in the area (they are exceptionally sensitive to any type of movement in this area). Bring a pair of field glasses and be patient - you may have more luck than i have had recently,
