One of the country’s most iconic sporting venues, Adelaide Oval holds an elevated status as the home of cricket and Australian rules football in South Australia. Imposing and white-roofed, the stadium towers above the leafy suburb of North Adelaide. Constructed in 1871, the 2012 redevelopment of Adelaide Oval brought the historic stadium in line with the modern demands of large sporting venues. The stadium often hosts concerts, with artists such as Elton John, Madonna, and Fleetwood Mac having performed there.     A brilliant tour with good access and very good commentary. The guide demonstrated a passion for his subject and showed us things that normally you would not see, like the inside of the historic scoreboard. Well worth booking a visit when you are in Adelaide.

    Great layout. Wide aisles. We took part in the Stadium tour. Our guide, Katrina, was delightful. Her knowledge of the history of the ground was extensive. Due to a Sheffield Shield game being played, the tour was slightly modified, but we didn't miss mych. A highlight was being able to see the heritage listed scoreboard in operation. Fabulous to see it has been preserved and still used.
